GOOD PRACTICES
Dylan Casaer – City Aalst (BE)

Since 2012, I am authorized for mobility in Aalst. We have a new ambitious mobility plan. Our goal is to tackle traffic jams and ‘untie’ the city. We want Aalst to become as bicycle proof as Copenhagen and create a safe and pleasant environment for our citizens.

Presentation: Aalst, a city where sharing is caring

Just like any other centre city in Flanders and Europe, Aalst is faced with the challenges of our modern society and economy: More and more people move around within a limited area. As a result, we stand still, literally and figuratively speaking. Our aim is to reduce the number of cars on our streets and push things forward. Aalst currently has successful partnerships with Cambio which we plan to expand. But we have other exciting projects on our horizon. For instance, as from September on we develop a innovative project ‘sharing neighbourhoods’ in one of our neighbourhouds. Also, Aalst wants to set up its very own a free-floating bikesharing system…

Social Car? Smarter mobility (behaviour) for everyone! The integration of shared mobility in multimodal routeplanning (carpool + public transport) has been tested in 5 European cities, among which Brussels also during the European Social Car project.

Martin Kracheel will present the experiences and which business opportunities he sees to exploit the open source code beyond the project… A session about how car sharing can be a solution to tackle zonal mobility problems in a business district in a European Capital (Luxembourg).

At Junction, we take up the innovation challenge together with your company. From analysis to implementation, we’ve got it covered. We don’t only focus on the technical side of innovation but are also convinced that “the people side of innovation” is equally important to obtain results and to establish the culture you want. You can count on us for innovation strategy and business consulting, innovation tracks such as bootcamps, hackathons, design thinking workshops, and for professional coaching to lift yourself and your organization to the next level. To stay ahead of the competition, to create a workplace culture where employees can thrive and to develop new business models.

Presentation: Mobility of the future: a hackers’ point of view

From February 22-24th, we organised a summit Mobility of the future, consisting of an experience fair, conference and hackathon. We’ll take a deep dive into what was mentioned on shared mobility and will share with you the results of the challenge on shared mobility during the hackathon.
